Come To The Flatlands For Mountains Of Rugs

Another popular ACOR conference looms on the horizon, and reservations are now being accepted. This time the site is the Marriott Downtown, a luxurious new hotel located at the thriving center of Indianapolis, Indiana. A diverse array of focus sessions, exhibitions, receptions, and collecting opportunities awaits you at what promises to be the very best American Conference on Oriental Rugs ever. Here’s a hint of what’s in store.

Pursue Your Favorite Rug Subjects In Depth

The ACOR 6 program presents more than two dozen focus sessions led by experienced collectors, field researchers, academics, and authors. Some will address broad topics such as design origins, textile structure, and how to tell great rugs from less memorable ones. Others will survey particular weaving groups or address specialized issues of importance to the collector such conservation or identifying pieces of unknown origin. Throughout, you’ll enjoy ACOR’s traditional hands-on focus..... rugs, rugs, and more rugs.

Savor Several Outstanding Rug Exhibits

An exclusive hotel exhibition will feature a broad array of carpets and textiles from Midwest collections. Two smaller exhibitions will present Persian bands and Baluch weavings. And the Indianapolis Museum of Art will show Moroccan rugs and Turkmen costumes.

Discover Your Next Treasure At The ACOR Rug Fair

More than 70 leading antique rug and textile dealers from across America, Europe and Asia will display their offerings on Dealers’ Row, a rug fair held especially for ACOR participants. In its relaxed, welcoming setting you’ll make new friends and peruse at your leisure the best of what’s available in the international antique textile marketplace.

Stay An Extra Half-Day For A Special Treat

On Sunday afternoon after the conference closes, a special tour will travel to Columbus, IN, to visit the Boucher collection of Baluch rugs. This renowned group of weavings was acquired by the Indianapolis Museum of Art after Col. Boucher’s death and represents the finest aggregation of weavings attributed to this tribal group open to the public today.

Register NOW; Don’t Delay Your Reservation

The registration fee is $350 per person, which admits you to all focus sessions, receptions and exhibitions, coffee breaks, three breakfasts, one luncheon, and Dealers’ Row. A special room rate of $147 has been arranged at the Marriott Downtown Hotel. Hotel reservations will be made for you through ACOR based on your registration form request. Hotel and conference confirmation will be mailed to you within 30 days. You may register either through our Website or by using the ACOR 6 registration form. We urge you to make your reservation now, since attendance will be limited by available space.
